ATHENA Ignite is a series that brings together inspirational figures in the fields of entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation with young people. Our goal is to turn that spark into a flame by sharing ideas that will shape the future, experiences, and powerful stories.

Gerontology Presentation

The Gerontology Presentation conducted under the auspices of Akdeniz University aimed to introduce Engineering and Industrial Development to older adults.Through this initiative, we successfully instilled a sense of hope and awareness regarding these technological advancements.

Space Scorpions

The NASA Space Apps Challenge is an open-to-all hackathon organized by NASA since 2012. Our team members participated in the “Moonquake Map” challenge, one of the categories within this hackathon. They designed a website that takes data from a 3D map to create an interactive earthquake and lunar map. As a result of their work, they qualified to compete globally.

ACCT

Turkey's First Carbon Capture Technologies Team In another one of our initiatives, we established what we call ACCT, Turkey's first Carbon Capture Technologies team. Our team developed a drone that measures and captures carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by integrating Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. We also organized SATHACK, which was Turkey's first remote sensing technologies hackathon.

ColorCRESCENDO

A platform that brings together every color that makes up FIRST & STEAM, allowing each team to express their unique identity through art and machine learning. Teams can upload their logos to the system, where they will be categorized by their colors to recreate the FIRST logo. Teams can individually approach each team in the generated mosaic to explore other tasks through our platform! Similarly, we participated in the NASA Space Apps Challenge as "SpaceScorpions" and were the only FRC team in the region.

ARTYMIND

We developed ArtyMind, an AI module that scans the content of digital texts and generates visual content (images) for the identified words. We received the Jury's Special Award at ROBOTEX

SCORPOLY

We have created a new board game called SCORPOLY. This game aims to teach children, in an educational and fun way, how they can reduce their carbon footprint to help prevent global warming.

TC GRIDA

We developed a new unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) named TcGrida to monitor map changes in water bodies and fault lines. The images we captured with TcGrida garnered over 45K+ views, drawing attention to environmental protection. As a result, we successfully received the “People’s Choice Award” given by İBB&FYF, and we introduced our team to nearly 500,000 people by placing 2nd at BilimFest, the biggest STEAM festival in the Mediterranean. what truly sets TcGrida apart is that its components are made using our own recycled filaments.

Python-docs-tr

It is composed of FIRST alumni/members from Canada, Türkiye, and the USA to maintain collaboration. Together with volunteer translators, we published the Turkish translations of Python's documentation on GitHub and other platforms, a world-first release. This initiative reached a total of 10.9 million people worldwide, including major organizations such as ASELSAN, Turkcell, Trendyol, Turkish Aerospace (Türk Havacılık), and Türk Telekom.

PATIBOX

As part of our FRC team initiative, we launched a movement aiming to reach street animals across Türkiye, reaching 1239 viewers, and designed a shelter called PATIBOX for the animals living on our campus. Similarly, we are working closely with Konyaaltı Municipality to collect used books for recycling in our laboratory.

Kafam Rahat App

KafamRahat App aims to eliminate gender inequality in the distribution of household tasks. With the slogan “From family to society for gender equality,” this application lays the groundwork for social gender equality by ensuring gender equality within the family, the building block of society. Our team members came in second place at the “Mobile App Hackathon for Gender Equality” organized in collaboration with the Vodafone Turkey Foundation and Habitat Association. Coastal Ownership Project

Following training from TURMEPA (Marine Cleanliness Association), our team, together with the Antalya Marine Branch Directorate, organized the "Konyaaltı Beach Cleanup" event on Konyaaltı Beach, one of the world's most renowned beaches, with the participation of our school students and volunteers.

Sister School Project

Our team continues to organize specific robotics activities with our sister school, which is determined by the Ministry of National Education every year.

FIRSTSymphony

We designed FIRSTSymphony and invited FRC teams to introduce a creator from one of the monthly artistic agendas; Bob Marley, Sylvia Plath, Barış Manço, etc.

WOMEN'S RIGHTS CONFERENCE

We organized a women's rights conference in line with the theme of December 5 Women's Rights and Engineers Day. This event was organized in collaboration with Akdeniz University.

National Tree Planting Day

We participated in the tree planting ceremony organized by the Antalya Governor's Office as part of “National Tree Planting Day.” With the slogan “Breath for the Future, Breath for Humanity,” the event aimed to strengthen our awareness of nature and breathe life into the future.

Zero to Hero

Through our Zero To Hero STEM+A education program, conducted in partnership with the Ayçov Foundation, we aimed to organize activities in various fields such as engineering and art for orphaned and underprivileged children, thereby increasing their interest in these areas.
